Indian River softball (35-7) stays unbeaten in conference play (5-0) with two victories on Wednesday over Miami-Dade.
Game 1 featured a six run second inning, leading to an 8-2 victory. Adrianna Portanova and Alina Varga both had multiple RBI's in the frame. Varga was also the winning pitcher, throwing four complete innings and striking out three. Dominique Prevette adding three K's of her own, closing the game with shutout innings in the fifth, sixth and seventh. Madison Knight and Kyla Knier each had multiple hits, with the team collecting ten overall
Prevette also won Game 2 pitching 6 innings, giving up no runs, just one hit and striking out another three. Portanova again had a multiple hit game, as did Daija Torchia. Torchia also added three stolen bases (four total) as part of the team total of ten on the day. Next Up: Saturday April 1 vs FSW (1:15pm) and SCF-Manatee (5:15pm).
