Pioneers Score 112 Points In Victory Over Miami Dade
The Pioneer men eclipsed the century mark for the sixth time this season as they defeated Miami Dade College 112-75.
The Pioneers jumped out to an early 10-2 lead and went into half time with a 52-36 advantage. IRSC found their shooting range in the second half connected on 9 of their 14 three-point shots in the second half and cruised on to a 37 point win. "Our guys did a great job of sharing the basketball and finding the open man," commented IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson. The team shot 48% from the three-point line and 51% over-all for the game.
Leading scorers were Kimani Binder with 22 points, Kevin Grace 17, Cedric Jackson 17, Deontae Weaver 16, and Shaq Rombley added 14. Oliver Earnvall put in a solid performance for IRSC pulling in a season high 18 rebounds along with 5 assist, and 4 block shots.
The win moved the Pioneers record to 14-5 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Conference. The next action for IRSC will be January 16th at home when they match up against Palm Beach State for a 7 p.m. tip.
