Robinson and Bobo Earn All-Conference Honors for Indian River Volleyball

TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Sun-Lakes All-Conference awards have been announced, and two standout players from the Pioneers volleyball team have been recognized for their outstanding performances in the 2024 season. The Division II Sun-Lakes Conference, consisting of 11 teams, highlighted the achievements of these players who made significant impacts on the court.

Katejion Robinson, a sophomore outside hitter from Zephyrhills, FL, was named to the prestigious Division II All-FCSAA/All-NJCAA Region 8 Team as well as First Team All-Conference. Robinson's impressive season stats include an average of 3.65 kills per set, amassing a total of 241 kills, which placed her fifth in the conference. She also contributed 143 digs, 34 blocks, and 19 service aces. Playing in 20 matches this season, Robinson's consistency and skill on the outside made her a reliable asset to the team's offense.

Joining her in this recognition is Katelyn Bobo, a freshman setter from Palm City, FL, who earned a spot on the Second Team All-Conference. Bobo led the conference in assists, totaling 622 and averaging 7.78 assists per set. Her all-around play also added 160 digs and 39 service aces to her season stats. With appearances in 22 matches, Bobo was a key player, setting up her teammates with precision and helping to orchestrate the Pioneers' offensive success.

Head Coach Erin Ergle expressed her pride in both players, saying, "Katè and Bobo have worked tirelessly all season, and this recognition is a testament to their dedication and talent. Katè's leadership on the court and Bobo's ability to direct our offense have been crucial for our team. They both have a bright future, and we're thrilled to see them honored. I am very proud of them both."

The Pioneers wrapped up the season finishing 7th overall in the Sun-Lakes Conference, narrowly missing the state tournament. With only the top six teams advancing, Indian River fell just short of earning a postseason berth, but their determination and progress throughout the season leave a strong foundation for next year.
