The River Sweeps SFSC on Sophomore Night

FORT PIERCE, FL- The Indian River State College Pioneers volleyball team continued their push toward the state tournament with a commanding 3-set victory over South Florida State College on Sophomore Night. The Pioneers took the match with scores of 25-20, 25-15, and 25-17, building crucial momentum as they fight for a spot in November's state tournament.

Before the match, IRSC recognized two standout sophomores, outside hitter Kate' Robinson (#15) and middle blocker Hannah St. Croix (#9), for their tremendous contributions to the program. Robinson has been a key offensive player, consistently delivering kills, while St. Croix's dominant blocking in the middle have been vital to the team's defense. Kate' Robinson and Hannah St. Croix will leave lasting legacies at IRSC.

With this win, IRSC improves their overall record to 11-7 and a 7-5 mark in conference play, positioning them in 6th placeā€”the final qualifying spot for the state tournament. With only three conference games remaining, the Pioneers are focused on maintaining their position to secure a tournament berth.

The Pioneers controlled the match from start to finish, taking the first set 25-20 before cruising to a 25-15 win in the second. They sealed the sweep with a 25-17 win in the third set, marking a perfect night to celebrate their sophomores.

As IRSC looks ahead to the remaining matches, they know every win counts. With a spot in the state tournament on the line, the Pioneers are ready to rise to the challenge. 

Next match is today, October 18th, at Palm Beach State College with a 6PM start time.
