The River falls on the road to Daytona State.

Indian River volleyball lost against Daytona State College in three sets on Saturday, October 21st.

Indian River struggled to find their rhythm as Daytona State came out quick by going on a 4-0 run to start the first set. The Pioneers finally made their way as they went on a five-point run to push the deficit by two, 12-14. Unfortunately, from here, the Falcons pulled away and gained a huge lead. Despite the gap, the River stayed resilient and fought back but fell short as Daytona State closed out set one 19-25.

Much like the first, Indian River got off to a slow start in the second set. The Falcons continued to apply pressure behind the service line as the Pioneers struggled to sideout. DSC took set two 11-25. In the third set, the Falcons once again took the lead early on and did not let up. Indian River tried to fight back but the deficit was too much. Daytona State won the third set 13-25 and 3-0 on the match.

Next match for IRSC volleyball is in Fort Myers on Wednesday, October 25th against Florida Southwestern State @6:30pm.
