Indian River struggles at Eastern Florida.

Indian River struggles at Eastern Florida.

The Pioneers take the road to go up against No. 10 Eastern Florida State College. After dropping their match on Wednesday to HCC, the River was looking to bounce back and get their first conference win of the season.

The first set saw the River struggling to find their groove as the Titans pushed the lead early. The Pioneers finally settled in, but the Titans did not let up, taking the set 15-25.

The second set started off similar to the first but eventually the River made a comeback tying the set 10-10. Unfortunately, Eastern was able to rally as they made a big push, taking the lead and not looking back. Eastern took set two, 15-25.

Indian River started off slow in the third set as Eastern capitalized the pressure behind the service line. As this did not go well for the River, they quickly fell into a big hole, 5-13. Not giving up, the Pioneers continued to make plays with a couple of runs but it was not enough as the Titans took set three 16-25, winning the match 3-0.

The River prepares to bounce back against Santa Fe next Wednesday at home at 5:30pm.
