IRSC Volleyball Win Season Opener

Today was the Season Opener for the Pioneer's Volleyball team at Home versus South Florida State College. The Pioneers came out of the gates a little slow and dropped the first set, but quickly got into the swing of things and won the next three in a row to claim their first win of the season, in four sets. 

   The River offense was led by returning sophomore Mallory Roney, with 16 kills and 11 digs, as well as freshman Irene Verdino playing in her first match with 12 kills and 20 digs. The Pioneer Libero, Jasmine Sayre, racked up 21 digs in the first match of the season. In addition, outside attackers Tessa Raadsheer, with 8 kills, and Gabriela Fialova with 5 kills and 7 digs, helped to bolster the River to their first win of the season.

   The Indian River Pioneers are coached by Stephanie Skidmore and are now undefeated at 1-0 for the 2021 Season. The next match for River is this Friday February 5, 2021 at home in a Tri Match with Hillsborough and Santa Fe with games at 1pm 3pm and 5pm.
