IRSC Swimming and Diving vs Florida Atlantic University
The IRSC swimming and diving teams travelled to Boca Raton on September 24th for an early season swimming and diving dual meet with Florida Atlantic University.
Although both teams came away with a loss, the defending 2021 NJCAA Champions for the women's and men's teams were able to compete very well and had many close races throughout the competition.
The women's meet got off to a great start with a win from the 200 medley relay team of Ella Gates, Masha Prima, Carla Meikle, and Olivia Ciancimino. Freshman Masha Prima would also go on to win 2 more individual events in the 100 Breaststroke and the 100 freestyle, while freshman Carla Meikle took the other event win in the 50 freestyle.
On the men's side freshman Jack Rowell had two good races in winning the 1000 and 500 free. Also winning multiple events was sophomore Michael Deans who took the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Other event winners were William Beckstead Holman (100 backstroke), Billy Turnbull (1m diving), and Sam Hlavachek (3m diving).
