Women’s Basketball Named Citrus Conference Runner Ups 

GAINESVILLE, FL - Indian River women's basketball team defeated Santa Fe 65 – 56. With the win the Pioneers were named Citrus Conference Runner-Up, as they finished conference play 13 – 8.

Brialle Washington led the Pioneers in scoring tallying 14 points, Kailyn Peters added 10 points and freshman Elesi Simmons contributed nine points. 

"We finished conference the way we started, on a win streak. It feels good to finish on a four-game win streak. I am truly proud of this team, we overcame so much adversity from losing our starting point guard to multiple injuries throughout the year. We are playing Indian River basketball as we prepare for the tournament," Coach Robinson noted.

The Pioneers are set to travel to Northwest Florida to compete in the Region VIII Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The Pioneers have found much success in the tournament, in the past four years they finished in the final four with thier best finish in 2022 when the Pioneers were Region VIII Tournament Runner Up.

The Pioneers do not know who they will play against on March 14 yet. The seeding and game times will be released on Twitter @Region8Tourney on Friday, March 8.
