Women’s Basketball Sweeps Saint Petersburg College

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Indian River Women's Basketball defeated St. Petersburg College 80-38 in the third-round Citrus Conference matchup.

The Pioneers were clicking on all cylinders, forcing SPC to three single digit quarters and tallying a season high of 13 steals and forced the Titans to 20 turnovers.

"We've been playing well as the regular season comes to an end, today was a good team win where we competed for 40 minutes" Coach Robinson noted.

JaMya Robinson has been dominant for the Pioneers tallying another double-double, scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds. Brialle Washington scored 31 points, three steals and two assist. Dyanna Maxey contributed 11 points, four rebounds and three assists. Kailyn Peters added nine points, five steals and four rebounds.

With the win, the Pioneers are 17 – 11 overall and 11 – 8 in conference play. The Pioneers will be back in action Saturday, March 2, against Florida Southwestern. Tip-off will be at 2:00 p.m. Prior to the game all sophomores will be recognized for their accomplishments as a Pioneer.
