Women’s Basketball Defeats St. Petersburg College on the Road

ST. PETERSBURG, FL- Thursday evening on the West Coast, Indian River faced Saint Petersburg College in a second-round matchup. In the first matchup, the Pioneers defeated the Titans 73-64 with the help of sophomore Brialle Washington, who had an outstanding game. 

In the second matchup, the Pioneers displayed a dominant performance, defeating the Titans 66-52. The Pioneers brought their defensive efforts to SPC, holding the Titans to 11 points in the third quarter. 

Freshman Jordan Boddie led all scorers with 27 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Dyanna Maxey and Kailyn Peters both added nine points each. Maxey also contributed six rebounds.

"Tonight, we came out and defended at a high level; I thought our defensive efforts opened up the floor for us to get into our transition game," Coach Robinson noted.

With the win, the Pioneers are 9-7 in conference play and 15-10 overall.
