FORT MYERS, FL - Indian River women's basketball faced off against Florida Southwestern in a highly contested matchup. In the first contest, the Pioneers won at home 66-60. In the second matchup Indian River jumped out to a 11-2 lead by freshmen Jordan Boddie.
In the second half, the Pioneers struggles begin as they only scored 9 points allowing FSW to score 18.
"We've found ourselves in a scoring slump where shots that normally fall aren't. The game of basketball is about runs; we will begin to peak at the right time" Coach Robinson noted.
FSW would go on to defeat the Pioneers 65 -58.
Kailyn Peters had a breakout game scoring a career high of 23 points and three rebounds. Jordan Boddie added 14 points and four rebounds.
Indian River record is 13 – 8 overall and 7 – 5 in Citrus Conference play.
