Pioneers Suffer First Conference Lost

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Indian River Women's basketball program traveled to Daytona State for a second-round matchup in Citrus Conference play. The Pioneers led for the first three quarters before getting outscored 26 – 12 in the fourth causing Indian River to suffer their first conference lost.

For the first time since 2019 the Pioneers lose to Daytona State 81 -71.

"We did not execute our game plan for four quarters, we made some key mistakes that cause for Daytona to gain the momentum. In conference play we cannot make those mistakes; we'll take this game and learn from it" Coach Robinson noted.

The Pioneers had five players in double digits, led by freshmen Jordan Boddie who tallied 19 points and seven rebounds. D'yanna Maxey contributed 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. Mo'Nique Joseph, Kailyn Peters and Ida N'gonda all added 10 points apiece. Joseph grabbed eight rebounds and Peters pulled down five rebounds.

The Pioneers will look to get back in the winning column on Wednesday, January 10th  on the road at Miami Dade.
