Indian River Women’s Basketball Earns Road Win.

FORT MYERS, FL - Wednesday evening in Fort Myers, FL Indian River Women's Basketball program traveled to Florida Southwestern for a Citrus Conference Showdown. 

In the first half, the momentum favored FSW as their offense was clicking on all cylinders. FSW point guard Kiana Wilson had a huge first half scoring 12 of her 17 points.

With the help of Wilson, FSW went up by 10 early in the second quarter. However, that was not enough to put the Pioneers away for good. Jordan Boddie had a career high 26 points for the Pioneers scoring 18 in the first half. Boddie outstanding shooting performance helped the Pioneers fight back to cut the led to 4, going into half time down 34-30.

"Road games are never easy, it will always be a fight to the end. I am proud of how we responded to adversity coming out of halftime" Coach Robinson noted. 

In the second half, the tides begin to turn as the Pioneers outscored FSW 36 - 26 earning their third Citrus conference win; defeating Florida Southwestern 66-60. 

The Pioneers had three players in double digits led by Boddie 26 points. Brialle Washington contributed 15 points and four rebounds. Sophomore Combo guard Jasmine Peaks added 13 points, going a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.

With the Win, the Pioneers are on a five-game win streak with an overall record of 7-3. Indian River has one more spot before Christmas Break on Saturday, December 16th at Daytona State College, 2pm tip off.
