Indian River Women’s Basketball Defeats Tallahassee

FORT PIERCE, FL - Saturday Afternoon in Fort Pierce, IRSC women's basketball hosted Tallahassee in a non-conference rematch. The first match up between the teams was on November 4th at Tallahassee and the Pioneers won 67-51. In the second game, IRSC started off strong outscoring TCC 25 -11 and would eventually go on to win 80-69.

The Pioneers had three players in double digits; sophomore combo guard Jasmine Peaks filled the stat sheet scoring 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. Kailyn Peters came off the bench scoring 19 points and six rebounds. Brialle Washington added 11 points, Mo'Nique Joseph was two points shy of her first double double tallying 8 points and 11 rebounds.

"Tonight, was a good win for us. We have been talking about starting the games off better and we did just that. TCC went on a run but never led and that's big for us as we learn how to put teams away" Coach Robinson noted.

Before the holiday break, The Pioneers will begin Citrus Conference play hosting Santa Fe on Saturday, December 9th, at 2:00 pm.
