Women's Basketball Remains Undefeated at Home

Saturday Night in Fort Pierce, Indian River host Hillsborough Community College in a Southern Conference matchup. The Pioneers overcame an early slow start to defeat HCC 88-68, earning their 23rd win of the season.

Indian River had four players in double digits, Led by Rapuluchi Ngorka who contributed 19 points and 16 rebounds. Sophomore Guard Tavi Habib added 17 points and 4 rebounds, Jasmine Peaks had her first career double double with 13 points and 10 assists. Shomari Phillips also scored 13 points. Freshmen Kailyn Peters added 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Claire Simmons had a solid offensive night scoring 9 points, seven rebounds and 2 assists.

"In the first quarter we didn't come out as sharp as I would have liked which cause us to start slow, we picked it up in the second half which allowed us to extend our lead" Coach Robinson noted.

The Pioneers are currently 6 – 0 in Southern Conference Play, 23-3 overall. The River will be gearing up for the final round of conference play on Thursday February 9th at Florida Southwestern.
