IRSC Women's Basketball Win at Miami Dade

In Miami, FL Saturday Afternoon Indian River Women's Basketball defeated Miami Dade 97 – 69. In the first quarter Akiyonna Joiner helped the River get out to a 9 point led by hitting back to back 3's, closing out the first quarter up 21 - 12.

All cylinders was clicking for the River, scoring a season high of 97 points. Fiver Pioneers was in double digits, Freshmen Jeannie Scott led the River in scoring with 22 points, and nine assist five rebounds and five steals. Akyionna Joiner added 16 points and JaQarra Phillips contributed 15 points and four rebounds. Alabama duo Miya Kimber and Andria Stitt added 14 apiece.

With the blowout win the River stands 11 – 2 on the season and 5 – 1 in conference play. The River still stands 4th in the state and 17th nationally.
