IRSC Women's Basketball Defeats # 19 FSW

In the second meeting against Florida Southwestern, Indian River Women's Basketball defeated top 20 ranked FSW 61 – 53. In the opening quarter the River jumped out to a 6 – 0 lead held by sophomore guard Breanna Campbell. The River was able to get FSW Bucs out of sync early which led to the Bucs scoring only 7 points in the first quarter.

The River continued to play well in the second quarter, going into halftime up by 15 points.

Sophomore Duo Breanna Campbell and Maryanne Logsdon led the River in scoring with 15 apiece. Miya Kimber added 11 points and eight rebounds and Freshmen Aniyah Jenkins made her presence known in the paint contributing eight rebounds and five blocks.

"In the fourth quarter, we made key stops at crucial moments which led us to winning the basketball game and being ranked 1st in the Southern Conference Coach Robinson noted."

With the win the River currently stands 9 – 2 overall and 4 – 1 in conference play. The River is currently ranked 19th in the latest NJCAA polls.
