The River Outscores Miami Dade

Indian River State College Women's Basketball team earned a hard fought victory against Miami Dade to close out the first round of conference play. In the second quarter the River took the lead and never looked back outscoring Dade in every quarter. With a season high of 94 points the River defeated Miami Dade 94 – 78.

"Tonight we shot the ball really well and had multiple players contributing, we had an impressive season high of 20 assist" Coach Robinson noted.

Maryanne Logsdon continues her hot shooting streak, shooting an impressive 50% from the field. Logsdon finished the game with 18 points, five rebounds, three assist and two steals.

Sophomore Breanna Campbell had an all-around game scoring 17 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assist.

Freshmen Jeannie Scott tallied 13 points and seven assist and JaQarra Phillips added 12 points and four rebounds.

With the win the Pioneers currently stand 7 – 2 on the season and 2 – 1 in conference play. The River is ranked 25th in the Nation and 5th in the State of Florida. The second round of conference play begins at 5pm on Wednesday February 24th against Palm Beach State College at home
