Women’s Basketball picks up first Road Win

Monday evening Indian River State College women's basketball team traveled to Florida State College of Jacksonville to face the Blue wave. In what seem to be a competitive first half the River would go on to win 66 – 49.

Sophomore guard JaQarra Phillips led all scorers with 14, freshmen point guard Jeannie Scott added 10 points, six rebounds and three steals. Breanna Campbell contributed 9 points.

"Tonight we started off really slow, we made some key adjustments after halftime which allowed us to play our style of basketball. What makes this group special, is multiple players contribute and impact the game in several ways" Coach Robinson noted.

With the win the River is currently 3 – 0 on the season, with the next match up against top 10 ranked Pensacola in the second round of the Florida Juco Shootout.
