Women’s Basketball Suffers a tough loss at Miami Dade

Saturday afternoon Indian River State College women's basketball team travel to Miami to face Miami Dade College. In a highly contested matchup the River jumped out to a fast start going into second half up 6 points, the lead would eventually extend to 14 at halftime. After a poor shooting performance in the second half The River suffered their second loss conference play, Miami Dade won 80 – 73.

Four players was in double digit for the River, Breanna Campbell led all scorers with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Maryanne Logsdon added 14 points three rebounds, two steals and two assist, Je'Nya Wilder added 11 points, six rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Loni Sales scored 10 points and six rebounds.

Coach Robinson mentioned, "We become complacent once we got up big in the third quarter, we stop doing what allowed us to get up. As a young team we are learning how to finish basketball games when up by double digits. We competed for 30 minutes tonight, in conference play we must compete for 40."

Indian River Women's Basketball team has a week off to reflect from today loss as they prepare for the second round of conference play. Saturday January 25th the River travel to Palm Beach to face Palm Beach State College.
