Indian River Women’s Basketball Players honored with All-Conference selections

Despite the rocky season, the Indian River State College women's basketball team was honored to have three of their sophomores recognized in the Region 8 Southern Conference All-Conference selection process.

Annette Dukes received 1st Team All-Conference recognition for her efforts this season. Annette is a two year participant on the IRSC women's basketball team and received 2nd Team All-Conference honors last season. This year Dukes averaged 15 point per game and 9 rebounds in conference action. She was ranked 7th in the conference and 12th overall in Region 8 in rebounds, as well as, finishing 9th in scoring in the Southern Conference. Dukes was a constant mainstay for the Pionees for two seasons and we are glad to see her rewarded for her efforts.

Elaine Field, a three year member of the IRSC women's basketball team, was selected to 2nd Team All-Conference for second year. Field medical red-shirted her freshman year after tearing three ligaments in ankle. Her sophomore year she received 2nd Team All-Conference honors for her efforts. Field's junior and final year started off in question as she broke a bone in hand and was on the injured list for part of the non-conference season. Upon Field's return she made an immediate impact in scoring and became the pulse of the team. Field doubled her stats from her freshman outing and finished with 11 points per game, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steal in conference action. Ranking her 5th in steals in the Southern Conference and 8th in Region 8, along with finishing 7th in the Southern Conference in assists and 14th in Region 8. She has also placed in several other categories to include scoring, rebounds, field goal percentage and 3 point field goal percentage. We are happy to see that she was reconized once again as an All-Conference selection. Her tremendous efforts has made her a recognizable opponent to many due to the expansion of her game and her relentless hustle.

Making her first appearance as a 2nd Team All-Conference selection is another two year participant for the River, Keona Cadore. Cadore finished conference action averaging 11 points per game and 4 rebounds. She had several highlight games this season to include a 25 point, 24 point and 19 point game. Cadore was recognized for her growing diversity in scoring as she was became a triple threat this season. She expanded her 3 point range, mastered the pull up jumper and was able to get to the rim with strong moves. Her impact was felt when she stepped on the floor for the Pioneers.

Indian River State College is proud of these three returning student-athletes for their efforts on the court and in the classroom. Congratulations for being selected to the Region 8 Southern Conference All-Conference teams.
