The River Sweeps Again at St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL- Indian River State College (IRSC) traveled to St. Petersburg College for another doubleheader on Saturday, April 6. The team's winning streak extends to eight, with two more victories and another season sweep within the Citrus Conference. In game one, the Pioneers took an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-1 final. Maddox Thomas and Ciara Gendron were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs in the contest. Collectively, the team recorded nine hits, nine walks, and seven stolen bases. The infielders turned multiple double plays to highlight the defense, and J'dah Girigorie struck out four to earn the win.

IRSC continued their momentum into game two, scoring twice again in the first inning. The offense was on fire with a total of seven runs in innings three and four, leading to the run-rule-shortened 9-0 shutout.
