IRSC Earns 2 Run-Rule Wins Against Polk State

FORT PIERCE, FL - Indian River won another home double header, improving their Citrus Conference leading record to 16-2.  The Pioneers scored early and often throughout both games and notched two convincing victories over Polk State. Game one resulted in an 8-0 final with Indian River collecting a total of nine hits and five stolen bases to help pace the offense. Lead-off hitter Cassidy Patterson was 3-3 three and J'dah Girigorie earned her seventeenth win of the season for the Pioneers striking out six and walking none.

Game two saw another explosive performance with the Pioneers striking again with three runs in the first inning, en route to a 12-1 victory. The offense continued its attack collecting another 11 hits and nine stolen bases. Some highlights included a 2-3 performance from Adrianna Portanova and a third inning two-run home run from freshman Nyasia Williams. Ciara Gendron earned the win for Pioneers, allowing just one hit and one run over three innings of work.

Next games for the Pioneers are Friday, March 22, at Dale Atkinson Field vs Dakota County Tech (Minnesota) at 11:00am and 1:00pm.
