Pioneers Win Another Double Header vs Seminole State College

FORT PIERCE, FL- Indian River State College (IRSC) softball wins another double header by defeating Seminole State College of Florida. In game one, the offense struck early, scoring one in the first inning, five in the second, and six more in the third. IRSC collected a total of 13 hits, en route to a run-rule shortened final of 12-2. Highlights included multiple hit games from sophomore Adrianna Portanova (2), sophomore Cambrie Todd (2), and sophomore Maddox Thomas (2). Freshman Presley Smith led the bats, going 3-3 with four RBI's, while Todd also added a home run blast in the bottom of the second. Sophomore Kendall Bryant repeated the feat, blasting another home run the following inning. 

Game two included a shutout victory (6-0), which saw the Pioneers get out to another early lead with two in the second inning and adding another in the third. Sophomore Cambrie Todd struck again with her second home run of the night. Freshman J'dah Girigorie earned her second win of the evening, allowing just four hits over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Emma Solis earned the save by throwing two innings in relief (Ciara Gendron earned the same in game one). The offense additionally added four walks and four stolen bases, and for the second straight game, it was free of any strikeouts. 

Indian River plays next at Daytona State College on Saturday, March 16 (1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.).
