Indian River Opens Citrus Conference Play With Home Sweep Over Eastern Florida

FORT PIERCE, FL - The Pioneers, who are ranked fifth in the most recent NJCAA National Poll, run-ruled the thirteenth ranked Titans in game one 8-0. Freshman J'dah Girigorie earned her second win of the evening for the Pioneers, allowing just two hits and no earned runs, while striking out six and walking two. Sophomore Adriana Portanova went 1-for-3 with two RBI's as part of the offense's eight total hits in the game, along with four walks and four stolen bases.

The River hits the road on Thursday February 29, for conference matchups versus Hillsborough Community College at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
