IRSC Softball Splits Day One at the Paradise Cove Invitational

IRSC Softball Splits Day One at the Paradise Cove Invitational

NAPLES, FL- The Pioneers opened up the Paradise Cove Tournament on Friday and fell behind early to Wallace State. Other than a second inning of defensive miscues and unearned runs, the balance of the game was competitive. Indian River unfortunately suffered their first loss of the season (6-2) to the Lions. Sophomore Cambrie Todd went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the offense and both freshmen Alexa Bethel and J'dah Girigorie combined for seven strikeouts and zero walks.

Game two saw IRSC take on College of Southern Idaho, where freshman J'dah Girigorie earned the 4-3 win for the Pioneers. The reliever allowed just two hits and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking none.

Overall, Indian River softball splits day one at the Paradise Cove Invitational. They are back for day two tomorrow at 9AM against Chipola College.
