Indian River Claims Two Road Wins In Melbourne

Indian River Softball (33-7) traveled to Melbourne on Saturday to compete in conference "crossover" games.

The Pioneers won back to back games over Eastern Florida (7-2) and SCF Manatee (6-1). Game 1 featured a six run first inning with IRSC sending ten batters to the plate.

Bridget Dunham, Daija Torchia and Kyla Knier each had multiple hits, with Knier adding four stolen bases. Alina Varga (19-3) earned the complete game victory in the circle.   

Dominque Prevette (12-2) pitched a complete Game 2 win over State College of Florida Manatee, striking out seven and walking zero. The offense racked up eight total hits in the contest, with multiple hit games from Cassidy Peterson and Dajia Torchia. Raelyn Roland added three stolen bases to the team total of eight.

Next up: Conference games @ Miami-Dade 2:00pm and 4:00pm.
