Indian River Splits with Eastern Florida

Indian River State College women's softball team split a double-header with Eastern Florida Wednesday night in Melbourne.  IRSC won the opening game 13-4, EFSC took game 2 8-2.

In game one IRSC starting pitcher Devan Ryan tossed a complete game, winning her 9th game on the season.  The righthander allowed four runs, scattering eight hits in her seven innings of work.

IRSC scored 13 runs on twelve hits.  Maeghan Branche, Bridgett Dunham, Raelyn Rowland, Macie Stanfield, Daija Torchia, and Taylor Wroten had run scoring hits for the Pioneers.

In the game two IRSC's offense was limited to just four hits in the 8-2 loss.  Raelyn Rowland, Kyla Knier, Maeghan Branche, and Taylor Wroten had hits for The River.

Sophomore starting pitcher Taylor Barrett suffered the loss. 

The Pioneers maintain a four-game lead over Miami Dade and Eastern Florida in conference play.  The conference leading Pioneers travel to South Florida State College on Saturday.  Game times at SFSC are 1:00 & 3:00.
