Indian River Sweeps Hagerstown CC

IRSC defeated Hagerstown CC of Maryland 5-3 and 9-1 on Tuesday in Ft. Pierce.

In the 5-3 win IRSC got off to a strong start scoring runs on a single by Maeghan Branche and a fielder's choice by Brooke Mathews.

IRSC tallied three more runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from an error and run scoring singles by Macie Stanfield and Kirst Granville.

Pitcher Jaden Williamson lasted six innings, allowing five hits, two runs, one earned, struck out five and walked one.

Tayler Owen, Ramsy Phillips, Shane Hewitt, Granville, and Branche had hits for the Pioneers.

In game two the Pioneers asserted their will over Hagerstown CC on their way to a 9-1 victory.

IRSC opened up scoring in the first inning when Maeghan Branche drew a bases loaded walk.

The Pioneers added three more runs in the third inning. IRSC batters contributing to the big inning included Taylor Wroten, Branche and Kat Rhoden, each contributed with run scoring hits in the inning.

Kasey Curent was on the rubber for Indian River. She went five innings, allowing four hits,  one run, struck out ten, and walked one.

The Pioneers had nine hits in the game. Wroten Kirsty Granville, and Branch had two hits each to lead IRSC.

The 32-1 Pioneers take on Palm Beach State on Wednesday in Lake Worth.  Game times at Palm Beach State are at 4:00 & 6:00.
