IRSC Swimmers Compete at the Kojac Memorial Invitational

FORT PIERCE, FL - On October 5th, the swimmers from Indian River State College competed in the Kojac Invite, which featured the 50s of each stroke, along with the 100 IM and 200 free events.
This meet was an opportunity for the team to compete in events they don't often swim during regular-season meets, as most college dual meets don't include the 50-yard distances for breaststroke and butterfly, nor the 100 individual medley. Swimmers do have the chance to compete in the 50 backstroke if they lead off the 200 medley relay or as the individual or relay lead-off leg in the 200 freestyle relay.
Many of the swimmers took the opportunity to showcase their strengths in these events, producing fast times that placed them at the top of the NJCAA rankings.
Standout performances on the women's side came from sophomore Nika Tomic, who went five for five, winning the 200 free, 50 fly, 50 back, 50 free, and 100 IM. On the men's side, freshman Oliver Nell came away with three wins in the 50 fly, 50 back, and 100 IM. Additional victories came from Kito Campbell in the 50 breast, Elliot Weisel in the 200 free, and Tom Ferguson in the 100 IM.
These were non-scoring events, so no team scores were recorded.
