Indian River State College Wins!

FORT PIERCE, FL- Coming off a successful 2023-2024 season in which Indian River State College (IRSC) defended its national championship, the swimming and diving teams began their 2024-25 season by hosting Florida Atlantic University on September 20th for an early-season dual meet. A year ago, both the men's and women's meets came down to the final relay, with The River emerging victorious. This year, the men's team once again triumphed against the NCAA Division I opponent, while the women came up short.
Leading the way for the women's team were sophomores Nika Tomic, who won both the 100 and 200 backstroke events, and diver Alexandra Andueza, who took first place in both the 1m and 3m diving events. Sophomore Ane Meier also secured a victory in the 200 freestyle.
On the men's side, IRSC set the tone early with a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 medley relay, then went on to win 10 of the next 15 events, including a 1-2 finish in the freestyle relay. Leading the way for The River men was sophomore Gabriel Morales, who was a member of both the winning 200 medley and freestyle relays, as well as an individual winner in the 200 fly and 200 backstroke. Sophomore Kito Campbell, also part of the winning medley relay, went on to win his individual events in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Other individual winners were Knut Robinson (100 free), Oliver Nell (100 back), Riccardo Pandin (50 free), Elliot Weisel (500 free), and Zachary Gresham (100 fly).
