IRSC Swimming and Diving Wins on the Road at Florida Southern College


LAKELAND, FL - The IRSC men's and women's teams were both victorious when they travelled to Lakeland Florida to compete against the team from Florida Southern College.

It was a great day for the River women as they took victories in eleven of fourteen events contested. The first event saw a victory come from the 200 medley relay team of Maja Przybylska, Ana Villamil, Sophia Diaz, and Sara Safranko. Sophia Diaz went on to also win her 2 individual events in the 100 and 200 butterfly, Ana Villamil also won the 100 breaststroke, and Sara Safranko won the 50 freestyle. Other event winners came from Paola Gonzalez in the 1000 freestyle, Ane Meier took the wins in the 100 and 200 freestyle, and Sally Ouzts captured the 100 and 200 backstroke events. The team finished off their successful team victory with a win in the final event of the day by winning the 200 freestyle relay with the team of Safranko, Meier, Villamil and Przybylska.


Anderson Brown

On the men's side, it wasn't till the forth event that the men's team got their first victory when Gabriel Morales took the first of his two vitories in the 100 backstroke. Shortly after, he was then able to get the double by taking the win in the 200 backstroke. Other doubel event winners were Anderson Brown who won the 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle, and Kito cambell who got the wins in the 1200 and 200 breaststroke. Other event wins came from Josh Parry in the 100 butterfly and Mikael Soderberg in the 400 IM.

Women – IRSC 172, FSC 88

Men – IRSC 152, FSC 110



IRSC next competes on December 20th against Carson Newman, and will return to competition after the winter break on January 3rd when they take on Grand Valley and Rochester.
