Indian River Battles Hard but Falls Short Against St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Indian River State College faced off against St. Petersburg College on Wednesday, January 22. The River came out strong, staying within striking distance for most of the first half. Led by solid shooting and fast breaks, they kept the pressure on but struggled with consistency on both ends of the floor. The offense showed flashes of brilliance, highlighted by standout performances from key players. However, turnovers and missed opportunities allowed the Titans to gradually pull ahead by 9 points going into halftime.
In the second half, despite valiant efforts, Indian River couldn't keep up with St. Petersburg's relentless scoring. The River attempted to rally behind hot shooting and aggressive play, but their defense couldn't contain the Titans' attack. Turnovers remained a challenge, and they were forced into difficult shots as the Titans' defense tightened up. Though Indian River fought hard and posted a respectable 84 points, the gap proved too wide to overcome. While it wasn't the outcome they wanted, the experience gained from this game will be valuable as they move forward.
