Florida Memorial Edges Out The River in Overtime Showdown

MIAMI GARDENS, FL- In a thrilling back-and-forth first half between Indian River State College and Florida Memorial University JV team, both teams displayed high-energy play and sharpshooting as they went into the break with just a one-point difference. The River held a slim 39-38 lead thanks to strong performances from their guards, who capitalized on fast-break opportunities and perimeter shooting. Florida Memorial kept the game tight with solid inside scoring and clutch three-pointers to stay within striking distance.
The second half saw the intensity ramp up, with both teams exchanging leads multiple times. Florida Memorial's offense began to click early as they found success driving to the basket and drawing fouls, leading to key free throws. Their players stepped up, hitting crucial shots in critical moments to maintain a slight advantage throughout the final minutes. This led to the game being tied at the end of regulation, 71-71.
In the tiebreaker, The River fought hard; however, Florida Memorial's ability to control the tempo and make key stops in the final moments ultimately gave them the edge. In the end, it was Florida Memorial's game, with a final score of 83-78.
