IRSC Dominates Mid Florida Academy in Season Opener
FORT PIERCE, FL- What a way to start the season! It was an exhilarating matchup between Indian River State College (IRSC) and Mid Florida Academy. The IRSC basketball team showcased their offensive prowess, defeating Mid Florida Academy with a final score of 109-75.
The first half saw a competitive start, with IRSC leading 47-41 at the break. Mid Florida Academy kept up the pressure, making the game feel tightly contested as both teams exchanged baskets.
However, the second half belonged to IRSC. They came out firing, quickly extending their lead with a series of free throws and three-pointers. Mason Porter-Brown was a standout performer, leading the charge with an impressive 33 points. He was well-supported by Jeremiah Whitmore, who contributed 22 points, Aleksander Mitrovic with 18 points, and Dylan Holt, adding 12 points to the scoreboard.
Mid Florida Academy struggled to keep pace as IRSC's defense tightened and their offense clicked into gear. The game concluded with IRSC pulling away decisively, showcasing their depth and skill and marking a strong start to their season.

This was also the first game with TJ Jackson as Head Coach and Terrick Phillips as Assistant Coach for Indian River State. It's fair to say that this team is in good hands.
