IRSC Finishes Regular Season 25-5, 8th Straight Win

GAINESVILLE, FL - Indian River State College (IRSC) pushed its Region VIII leading winning streak to eight games with a 83-74 victory on the road at Santa Fe College. The win capped off an outstanding regular season for The River finishing 25-5 and 11-5 in Citrus Conference play.

"The last game of the season after postseason play is clinched can be tough for a young team, especially on the road. Santa Fe did a great job, they came out and played very hard and Coach Mowrey had a great game plan," said Head Coach Bill Morosco. "I'm proud of our guys, things weren't going well for us in the first half but we toughened up and executed and made plays when it mattered."

IRSC was led in scoring by Jayshayne Woodard with 37 points. Mykol Sanchez added 15 and Aleksandar Mitrovic added 12 points. 

The Pioneers will play its next game in Niceville, FL at The Region VIII tournament on Wednesday, March 13. The seeding and game times will be released on Twitter @Region8Tourney on Friday, March 8.
