Team Effort Propels Pioneers Over West Lake Prep

FORT PIERCE, FL – Back on the floor just 48 hours after a thrilling two-point victory over Miami Dade Saturday afternoon, Pioneer fans would have a much calmer watching experience this time around. IRSC cruised to a 94-70 point victory over West Lake Prep building a lead of 35 points early in the second half. All 11 available IRSC players were able to play double digit minutes and 10 of the 11 scored in the game. After a hot start offensively and a stifling defensive performance, IRSC took a 54-28 lead into the half time break. The second half would be much more closely played as the Pioneers opted to rest their usual starters and allow the second team to play with more opportunities and more freedom.

"I'm proud of our guys, these types of games are always challenging when it comes to managing minutes and getting into a flow. I thought the guys were ready when their names were called and came in ready to play," said Coach Morosco. "We were able to rest a lot of our heavy minute guys and give some of the guys who haven't been playing as much a chance to show everything they have been working so hard on in practice," Morosco continued.

IRSC was led by freshman Mason Brown with 18 points, Mykol Sanchez added 14 points in just 10 minutes, Kyle Brown scored 14 fueled by two monster dunks and Mostapha El Moutaouakkil chipped in 12 points.
