Pioneers Fall to #4 Falcons

FORT PIERCE, FL – IRSC dropped to 17-5 with a home loss Wednesday night to the Daytona State Falcons who heading into the contest were ranked as the #4 team in the NJCAA. Daytona State caught fire shooting 50% from the three-point line and sinking a total of 18 three-point shots in the contest led by Josue Grullon with 41 points off of nine three-pointers. IRSC struggled from behind the arc, shooting eight of 24 from three-point range, connecting on just 33% of their attempts. IRSC was led by Mostapha El Moutaouakkil with 21 points and Mykol Sanchez with 19. Kyle Brown played very well off the bench adding 16 points and 8 rebounds.

"You have to give Daytona a ton of credit, they're the #4 ranked team in the country for a reason," said Coach Morosco. "Defensively they created a ton of pressure that caused us problems and on offense, if you make the slightest mistake they make you pay with 3's," he continued.

IRSC will be home for their next game against Miami Dade Saturday, February, 10 at 4:00pm on Mike Leatherwood court.
