River Rolls Past Santa Fe

FORT PIERCE, FL – IRSC put on a shooting clinic Saturday afternoon on Mike Leatherwood Court when the 16-4 Pioneers took on the 8-13 Santa Fe Saints. IRSC connected on 19 of 33 three-point attempts shooting a staggering 58% from 3. IRSC got out to an early lead and though Santa Fe was able to take a small lead after a three of their own, the Pioneers closed out the first half strong taking 50-38 lead into halftime.

The second half would continue a similar story with IRSC building a lead almost to 30 points late in the contest, finally ending with a 108-83 victory. The victory keeps IRSC currently in fourth place in the Citrus Conference.

"I'm very proud of our guys performance today. Santa Fe played a ton of zone and we made the right plays, found the open man and that led to good shots," Coach Morosco said after the game. "I'm really happy for Kyle Brown and Emmanuel Akot who were able to really get going. They work so hard so I'm happy they got to have breakout performances today," he continued.

IRSC was led by: Jayshayne Woodard with a triple-double of 11 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists. Six other Pioneers reached double figures: Kyle Brown with 19, Mostapha El Moutaouakkil with 18, Deng Majak with 17, Emmanuel Akot with 15, Mykol Sanchez with 13, and Mason Brown with 13.

The Pioneers are back at home on Wednesday against the number one team in the Citrus Conference, Daytona State. Men are scheduled to tip-off at 7:00pm.
