Pioneers Drop a Tight One at Eastern Florida

MELBOURNE, FL - In a battle that came down to the final seconds, IRSC lost a close contest on the road at #21 Eastern Florida. The Titans got off to a hot start taking an 18-6 into the first media timeout. It was all catchup from there for The Pioneers who put up a valiant effort cutting the lead to a one score game on multiple occasions. IRSC had a shot from Freshman Mason Brown to tie the game with under a minute remaining, unfortunately, the shot rolled in and out and IRSC was left to foul to stop the clock.

"Losing never feels good. But I thought our guys played very hard and we executed defensively holding a great offensive team like that to 72 points. Unfortunately, we have to come out ready to play and stop letting teams get early leads on us that put us in catch-up modes and that's on me," said Coach Bill Morosco. "There's a lot of things we did do well this game and we have to build on them going forward as we finally get a couple home games after three rough road games to start conference play."

IRSC was led by Mykol Sanchez with 16 points, Mostapha El Moutaouakkil added 15, Kyle Brown had 14 and Jayshayne Woodard contributed 11.
