Indian River Drops Their Conference Opener on The Road

IRSC Men's Basketball traveled to Florida Southwestern on Saturday where they came up short 91-89. The Pioneers took an 8-point lead to end the first half but were not able to close it out in a game that came down to the buzzer. The Pioneers were led by sophomore wing Pablo Tamba who scored a team high 20 points on 8-11 shooting to go with 5 rebounds. Jayshayne Woodard had another double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Sophomores Micah Octave and Jyre Mccloud were your other Pioneers to score in double figures scoring 16 and 15 points apiece. Florida Southwestern was led by Bradley Douglas who scored a game high 32 points and Jadrian Tracey scored 19 as well as the final go-ahead basket with 4 seconds remaining. Coach Morosco's thoughts on the game "Florida Southwestern is one of the most talented teams in the country and that was on display tonight, I am proud of our guys with how they competed and we had our chances to win, unfortunately they were able to make one more play than we did today and they got the win."
