Pioneers Headed to The National Tournament

Fort Pierce, Florida – The Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team watched the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Selection Show on Sunday night in anticipation on hearing their named called for the NJCAA National Tournament. The Pioneers punched their ticket with a sixth seed and will play the winner of the #11 seeded Triton College versus #22 seeded Caldwell Tech College on March 16th at 8 p.m. Central Time in Hutchinson, Kansas.  This is their second straight trip to the national tournament.  

IRSC made it to the championship game of the Florida College System Activities Association Athletic Tournament but came up short in the championship game losing to Chipola 88-75.  They were ranked #2 in the last NJCAA National Poll and have a 28-4 overall record and were the Southern Conference Champions for the third straight year.
