A.J. Cajuste Named NJCAA Region 8 Player Of The Week
Fort Pierce, Florida – A.J. Cajuste was announced as the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 Player of the Week for the week of February 14th this was the second time this year he was selected for this honor. Last week he led the NJCAA #2 ranked Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team to victories over #10 Florida Southwestern College 83-78, Hillsborough College 97-88, and State College of Florida Manatee/Sarasota 97-94. He averaged 26.0 points per game 6.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.3 steals for the three games.
Those three wins helped IRSC capture their third Southern Conference Championship in a row. Cajuste, a Covid Sophomore, was a major contributor in all three Southern Conference Championships. He has helped lead his team to a 25-2 overall record and a 10--0 Southern Conference record. Cajuste has committed to Stephen F. Austin to further his education and play National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I basketball.
