#2 IRSC Men’s Basketball Are Southern Conference Champions
Fort Pierce, Florida – For the third year in a row the Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team are the Southern Conference Champions. "I'm really proud of this group and the accomplishments they have achieved," stated IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson. With the win on Saturday over College of Florida Manatee/Sarasota 97-94 and by defeating Florida Southwestern College twice this season, the Pioneers will hang their third Southern Conference banner in a row. IRSC has two remaining conference games but have clinched the title no matter the outcome of those games.
With winning the Southern Conference, IRSC has qualified for the Florida College System Activities Association (FSCAA) Region 8 tournament which will be held in Niceville, Florida on March 2nd, 4th, and 5th. The seeding will be revealed at the conclusion of remaining FSCAA Region 8 conference schedule.
