IRSC Men #7 In The Latest NJCAA National Rankings

Fort Pierce, Florida – The Pioneers jumped five spots in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) top 25 poll landing at #7.  The Pioneers also moved up a spot to #2 in the latest NJCAA Region 8 Coaches' Poll behind Northwest Florida, who they defeated earlier in the season 79-75 at the Florida College Men's Shootout.  Indian River State defeated Hillsborough Community College 97-89 on January 5th for their first Southern Conference win of the season. IRSC has won the Southern Conference three out of the last four years; winning the title in 2021, 2020, and 2018.

The Pioneers are averaging 96.6 points per game and shooting 51.6% from the floor and 39.1% from beyond the three-point line.  IRSC's high-powered offense is led by Bendji Pierre who is averaging 19.3 points per game followed by recent Stephen F. Austin commit A.J. Cajuste 17.1, Kyle Fiet 13.8, Tyeree Bryan 13.4 and Jonathan Cisse contributing 11.6 points per game.  Due to a Covid cancellation by Florida Southwestern College, the Pioneers will take on Webber International J.V. tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Massey Campus in Fort Pierce, Florida.
