Pierre Named National Player of the Week

Fort Pierce, Florida – Bendji Pierre has just been named National Men's Basketball Player of the Week by Nation Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA D1). Pierre a 6'8" forward for Indian River State College (IRSC) lead his team to three wins at the Florida versus Georgia Thanksgiving Classic held at State College of Florida Manatee/Sarasota. The wins came over Georgia Highlands College 94-82, Albany Technical College 85-77, and South Georgia Technical College 92-84.  The big man averaged 19.7 points, 12 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for the three games and was selected the All-Tournament Team. The three wins propelled the Pioneers into the #7 ranked team in the nation in the latest NJCAA Poll.   He was also selected the Florida College System Activities Association Player of the Week for the second straight time.
