Bendji Pierre Named Region 8 Player Of The Week For The Second Time

Fort Pierce, Florida – Bendji Pierre 6'8" Forward for the Pioneers was named as the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) player of the week for the second straight week.  Pierre helped Indian River State College to three wins at the Florida versus Georgia Thanksgiving Classic held at State College of Florida Manatee/Sarasota.  IRSC had wins over Georgia Highlands, Albany Tech, and South Georgia Tech.  The three wins propelled the Pioneers into the #7 ranked team in the nation in the latest Nation Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Poll.  The big man averaged 19.7 points, 12 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for the three games and was selected the All-Tournament Team.
