Pioneers Move Up To #7 In the Latest NJCAA National Rankings

Fort Pierce, Florida – The Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team moved up two spots to #7 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) top 25 poll.  This is the highest ranking the Pioneers have had in recent years.  "This team never gives up, and they continue to find ways to win," stated IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.

IRSC won three big games against tough competition last week in the Florida versus Georgia Shootout at State College of Florida Manatee/Sarasota and moved their overall record to 10-1.  They defeated Georgia Highlands College 94-82, Albany Technical College 85-77, and South Georgia Technical College 92-84.  A.J. The Pioneers are averaging 93.8 points per game and are hitting 10 three-point baskets per game.  They have scored over 100 points in three games and have five players averaging double figures.  Bendji Pierre is averaging 20.1 ppg and leads the team in rebounding with an 8.1 average.  Cajuste is averaging 18.5 ppg and a team high 6.4 assists.  Other double figure scores are Jonathan Cisse 12.7, Tyree Bryan 12.6, and Kyle Feit with 12.2 ppg.
