IRSC’s Linton Brown Named First Team NJCAA All-American

Fort Pierce, Florida – Linton Brown added to his list of awards as he was named to the first team 2020-2021 Men's National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I All-American Team.  The 6'5" shooting guard helped lead Indian River State College (IRSC) Men's Basketball Team to their first ever trip to the NJCAA National Tournament and an Elite Eight appearance.  The team compiled a 20-4 overall record and back to back Southern Conference Titles.  Brown also took home the honors of the top junior college player in the state of Florida when he was named Region 8 Player of the Year.  He was also named Southern Conference Player of the Year and was a member of the Florida Region 8 All-State Team. "Linton had an unbelievable year and helped his team accomplish things we could only dream of at the beginning of the year," stated IRSC Head Coach Charlie Wilson.

Brown scored 442 points for an 18.4 ppg average in his second year at IRSC which ranked him third in the state of Florida.  He scored over 30 points three times this season with a season high 33 points against Palm Beach State and where he shot over 70% from the floor going 11-15 from inside the arc and 5-7 from behind the three-point line.

Brown was a high school standout at Wellington, Florida, were he led his team to the state play-offs.  He has committed to play NCAA Division I basketball for St. Bonaventure University who competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
